Piano Lessons
Piano students of all age ranges thrive at Keyboard Kastle's lesson studio. If students complain, it's usually because they don't want to leave.
Students learn to play through a combination of performance, theory, sight-reading, ear training, and instructor examples in a fun and relaxed environment.
This is not a one size fits all approach to teaching. Our instructor, Luke Backhaus, tailors his curriculum to incorporate music or topics that interest his students. Whether you want to learn classical piano or how to play your favorite radio hits, Luke can help you achieve your musical goals.
Students also learn on a professional quality instrument: the studio grand piano is a beautiful Yamaha grand.

Instructor Profile
Luke is the youngest of a musical family of four and has been surrounded by music since birth. In fact, his mom and dad met by playing in a band together! His father, the owner of Keyboard Kastle, began teaching him to play when he was 6, and his passion for piano and music was born.
Luke graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a music degree in 2007. Since graduating, he has played keys, sung backup vocals, and helped write songs in three Omaha-based rock bands: Malpais, Lonely Estates, and Foreign Body. Over the years they have shared the stage with internationally recognized bands (Blondie, Cursive, and Blue October, to name a few) and had their music featured on national TV shows: 90210, Harper's Island, and The Hard Times of RJ Berger. They have also been nominated for 3 Omaha Entertainment Awards for their music, which can be found on iTunes and Spotify.
Luke is a member of the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) and the OMTA (Omaha Music Teachers Association). He also teaches at SNJ Studio of Music in Millard and Elkhorn for those of you who live out west.
